The Joint Postgraduate Study Program (MSc) entitled “Health and Safety in the Modern School Environment” is an online program offered by the Department of Nursing at the University of Patras in collaboration with the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Nicosia.
This MSc program addresses a significant and, to date, inadequately covered area of postgraduate education in Greece. While most related programs focus on health education, first aid, and the general principles of public health, they rarely adopt a holistic and specialized approach to linking these fields with the school environment and the complex needs of the school community.
This MSc program is fundamentally distinctive, emphasizing the targeted application of scientific knowledge in the modern school. It addresses critical areas such as crisis prevention and management, psychosocial support for both students and educators, health education, safety, and the development of a healthy, protective, and inclusive school environment.
With an interdisciplinary focus and a modern scientific approach, this MSc program aspires to become a national reference point, strengthening the skills and professional competence of those working, or aspiring to work, in the sensitive and highly demanding field of school health and safety.
