Upon completing the course, students will be able to:
• describe the concepts of preoperative monitoring and preoperative patient preparation
• evaluate symptoms and develop critical thinking on nursing diagnostics preoperatively,
intraoperatively and postoperatively
• provide personalized postoperative care to patients thus preventing and treating postoperative
complications
• demonstrate skills in patient education, in planning postoperative rehabilitation as well as out-
patient rehabilitation programs
• comprehend the nurse’s role and participate in the multidisciplinary treatment group
• apply the most appropriate methods and techniques in every clinical practice
