Upon completing the course, students will be able to:
• become familiar with the etiology, pathogenesis, signs -symptoms and risk factors for
nosocomial infections
• recognize the types of nosocomial infections and comprehend prevention and treatment
principles. Apply universal precaution skills
• comprehend the importance of monitoring nosocomial infections, use of preventive vaccination, proper use of antibiotics and the protection of high risk patient groups
