Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the course, students will be able to:

• become familliar with the Emergency Department (ED) as a place of managing crises, triage
and admission of patients, initiating in-hospital care, and reffering patients to other
departments

• describe and understand common emergency conditions and the importance of the first
crucial hours, to evaluate information relevant to the health status of patients and to
develop critical thinking in clinical diagnostics

• provide timely, appropriate and individualized nursing care to patients according to their
health condition

• develop skills of cooperation, coordination and active participation in the interdisciplinary
therapeutic team
