Upon completing the course, students will be able to:
• define the etiology, pathogenesis, signs, symptoms and diagnostic tests of malignant neoplasms
• comprehend the principles of cancer treatment, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy,
with particular emphasis on complications, prevention and the protection of health professionals
• identify the biological and psychosocial needs of cancer patients and comprehend the nurse’s role as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment group
