Upon completing the course, students will be able to:
• define the methods of transmitting and preventing disease
• comprehend the epidemiology of infectious diseases (hepatitis, food poisoning)
• acquire and consolidate the necessary knowledge about infectious and parasitic diseases
• identify methods and means of destroying pathogenic microorganisms
• describe the methods of protection from Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS
• acquire the necessary knowledge about Family Planning, prevention of food poisoning, road
accidents, smoking, obesity, nutrition etc.
• comprehend the importance of demographic characteristics
• comprehend the differences between epidemiological studies (descriptive, retrospective,
outlook interventions)
